ROM Info Series Current Version v1.5b2 - June 23rd, 2000 There is a huge amount of software available for use under emulators. However, organising it can prove extremely difficult - especially if you have a large collection. I have written a number of utilities to attempt to solve this problem for 18 different platforms - and I hope to write more in the future. Right now, these platforms are: - Atari 2600 - Atari 5200 - Atari 7800 - Atari Lynx - Atari Jaguar - Bally Astrocade - Colecovision - Gameboy - Genesis/Megadrive - MSX - Neo Geo Pocket - Nintendo 64 - NES - PCE - Sega Master System/Game Gear - SNES - Vectrex - Virtual Boy Note that Atari 7800, Atari Jaguar, Neo Geo Pocket, and Virtual Boy are only available in a beta version. The latest stable release is v1.4. A screenshot is available on the WWW. While not all the ROM Info applications include all of the features below, they all include some subset of the following features: • The ability to display the information embedded in the ROM - or if none is present, to display information about the ROM taken from an internal database in the programs. • The ability to rename the ROM to its correct name according to a set list of criteria. • The ability to save the ROM's information to the finder comment field. • The ability to save or print a list of ROMs. • The ability to change the file's Type and Creator to popular emulators. • The ability to compress ROMs using gzip, which can be decompressed transparently by many popular emulators. • Many other features.
